Rationale:
|
|
The installation of an interim mobile kitchen facility is necessary to continue providing nutritious meals to students without disruption. Pursuant to Education Code Section 17293 and DSA Interpretation of Regulations IR A-22, temporary facilities such as modular kitchens may be exempt from Division of the State Architect (DSA) Structural Fire & Life Safety review, provided the District ensures safety compliance. However, the project must still undergo DSA Access Compliance review to ensure ADA compliance. |

Sky View Elementary is currently in need of an interim mobile kitchen facility due to the modernization of the existing permanent kitchen. The District proposes to install a modular or temporary kitchen unit on-site to maintain uninterrupted food service operations. |
